The combo probe consists of an Ultrasonic Anemometer, Hot Film that sit on a rotating arm made of an aluminum profile and an extending linear actuator that is rotated on a stepper motor with a built in encoder. Each of these will be listed here including their model numbers, setup instructions, and basic VIs that control them.
The following LabVIEW programs are available:
-Simple oscilloscope ScopeSimple
-Combo measurements COMBO LABVIEW
Definition of the absolute zero of the motor
If the combo has not been in use for more than 30 days its absolute zero position has to be defined.
Note: Make sure you have installed Lexium MDrive Ethernet.
1. Power on the motor.
2. Define the IP address as follows (use these properties for changing the tcp ipv4 options)
Note: For windows 10,search on windows: network connections .
3. Open Lexium MDrive and input the data as in the following picture and then connect
4. In SEM PORT, write the following commands
a) To define the zero position at the beginning:
DE=0
Move the system to the wanted position by hand
DE=1
C1=0
C2=0
PR VR
PR P
MA XXXXX
PR P
Turn off the power supply and then back on
PR P
b)To set the default parameters:
Enter the parameters that you want for the motor
Save them as default by using S then enter key.
c)Parameters for the combo:
AS 1
VI 1000
A 5600
D 8800
VM 20000
HC 80
Note:If stoppers are not connected, the stage won't move. To change the parameters:
is=2,2,0
is =1,0,0
TIPS for sonic anemometer
Note: All the channels are single ended.
Noise issues
To minimize noise when operating on battery
Connect plus and minus to the battery. Then connect sonic ground output to A/D body. Finally, connect the shield of the cable to the AI ground in A/D card. MAKE SURE BATTERY NEVER FALLS BELOW 11.5V, can add this to code!!
To minimize noise when operating on power supply:
Connect plus, minus and ground to the power supply and add additional loop with ground to the A/D body for each sonic. Finally, connect the shield of the cable to the AI ground in A/D card.
Combo assembly
To build as new combo, all required pieces are in the grey cabinet in the green box. See photos below.
