T-SAIL Ethernet Network
T - SAIL Ethernet Network can be split up into 2 parts: ExtraNet network and IntraNet network. With management of both is in charge a local switch located in a network cabinet (see Fig. ##REF:ethernetRack##).
The switch disposes of 23 ports devised as follow:
- Ports 1-11 – reserved for the Internet connection (ExtraNet) through the Technion Server. For this ports, the user is not obliged to define the IP Address of the device. This is in the charge of the Technion Server which will assign a free IP address in range 132.68.128.1 – 132.68.128.255.
- Ports 12-23 – reserved for IntraNet. All tools communicating through TCP/IP protocol should be connected using this ports. The user has the responsibility to assign an IP address to the device. The pool of addresses available for this operation is between 192.168.1.1 and 192.168.1.255.
The information about all assigned IP addresses in IntraNet is in Table ##REF:assignIP##. All newly assigned IP addresses should be also inserted here.
